Paid seats include a monthly usage bar for that person. Base model (green) is cheaper models. Frontier model (blue) is more expensive models — those fill the bar faster. Auto in the picker can land in either slice. Together they are utilization. When the bar is full, requests stop until you upgrade that seat — there is no on-demand spend. The bar shows a percent, not a second dollar price. Unused empty seats do not add usage to anyone else.
Inline suggestions: Coop may show ghost text while you type without using your monthly usage bar. When you accept a suggestion (Tab), that completion counts toward your monthly usage. Dismissing or ignoring suggestions does not.
Capability gates (team invites, Collections, Deep-Index) stay on the pro plan. Usage amounts come from the usage tier (Pro / Pro+ / Max).
Free

Free includes the same tool connectivity and cloud indexing as Pro. Limits are 15 messages per rolling 6-hour Auto window, $1.75 per-window and $7 weekly spend caps, the 3-repo Deep-Index cap, and solo account (no team invites). Accepted autocomplete suggestions count as one message; merely shown or dismissed suggestions do not. Free stays Auto-only.
Pro, Pro+, and Max
New accounts (no Coop login yet):
- Browser → Pricing → Start Pro (or Pro+ / Max)
- Checkout is for you by default (1 seat, you are the admin). Choose Start a team if you need multiple seats.
- Stripe payment → Welcome page provisioning
- You already have admin portal access. Connect GitHub and integrations (same flow as free)
- If you bought seats for a team, invite people from the admin portal
Existing Free accounts — upgrade the same org (do not start a second checkout with the same email):
- Extension → Settings → Plan & Usage → Upgrade to Pro, or
- Admin portal → Billing → Upgrade to Pro
- Stripe Checkout opens for that signed-in org; after payment you stay on the same org as Pro
These plans are seat-based. An individual buys one seat. A team buys several at checkout, or adds seats later from Billing. In the admin portal, Current plan stays Pro / Pro+ / Max for 1 paid seat, and becomes Team once there are 2 or more paid seats. The admin pays for the group on one Stripe bill. Each paid seat includes the extension, unlimited Deep-Indexed repos, Collections, and that person's monthly included usage. A teammate hitting their cap does not stop everyone else. Unused empty seats do not spill usage to anyone. Hit the cap and you must upgrade that seat — Coop does not sell extra usage on demand.
Checkout is still one plan × N. After you start a team, an admin can convert a person's seat to Pro+ or Max (or confirm a member's request) without upgrading the whole team. Occupied seats stay with that person — deactivating someone does not free their seat for someone else.
Public names: Pro ($25), Pro+ ($60), Max ($100). There is no Ultra / $200 individual plan. Above Max is Enterprise.

SAML single sign-on
Enterprise includes SAML 2.0 SSO for the admin portal and VS Code extension:

Billing management
Admin portal → Billing (paid):
- View invoices and payment method via Stripe customer portal
- 1-seat plans show as Pro / Pro+ / Max: add a teammate (buys another seat, then invite from Users). Two or more seats show as a Team plan. The admin pays for every seat.
- Mix Pro / Pro+ / Max after checkout: convert that person's seat from Users (or confirm their request)
- Occupied seats are not transferable. Unused empty seats can be invited into later
- Payment methods, invoices, and cancel stay in Stripe. After a mix exists, do not switch the whole subscription to one price in the portal
